Santa Cruise !!
The Christmas Santa Cruises have been a great success, with over 300 people enjoying a relaxing cruise and the festive fun at Santa's Grotto over the last two weekends. The adults enjoyed hot drinks and mince pies, with mulled wine available too, warmed up on a rather smoky brazier. The children all got a gift from Santa and made christmas cards - glue and glitter everywhere! The weather was kind on the whole, some sunshine and a bit of rain rather than snow and ice like last year.
The Christmas Raffle was well received, with lots of great prizes donated, for which we are very grateful. Click here to see the results of the raffle.
Merry Christmas !!

The Somerset Waterways Development Trust was founded in April 2005.

In Somerset there is a wealth of waterways and canals ready to be rediscovered as an important local asset. The Trust is a group of like minded people with their eyes and hearts set on conserving, protecting, improving and enjoying Somerset's watery inheritance.
The main objectives of the Trust are:
-
Promoting Somerset Waterways
-
Educating people about Somerset Waterways
-
Interpreting the history and landscape of Somerset Waterways
-
Protecting and conserving the environment, landscape, heritage and recreational resource of Somerset Waterways
-
Improving and enhancing in a sustainable manner Somerset Waterways
The waterways of Somerset are not just about boats and boating. They are about the environment, the landscape, our historic inheritance as well as a place to relax and slow down. Whether you are a boater, walker, an angler, a local resident, or a tourist the offer that Somerset provides in respect of waterway activities are great. However they are underdeveloped, often hidden and consequently not being used or appreciated as well as they could. The Somerset Waterways Development Trust has been formed to change this!
