The Somerset Waterways Development Trust really got into the “spirit” of Halloween.  The crew dressed in costume and decorated the trip boat in a spooky theme.  Children and their families were invited along, to take a trip across the “River Styx” (- better known as the Taunton and Bridgwater Canal), to the land of the un-dead, where they were greeted by an assortment of scary witches, ghosts, Dracula and the grim reaper.

There was face-painting fun inside the creepy cave, and Children were treated with a Halloween gift bag, whilst the adults were offered refreshments of “scream teas” or coffee and creepy cakes.  The party then moved back to the river to enjoy a short cruise along the Canal accompanied by funky Halloween tunes.  A really “wicked” time was had by all.

The Trust are running trips to see Santa in his grotto in December, departing from Creech St Michael cruising to the “North Pole”.  Every good boy and girl will get a present and fares are £4.50 children and £3 for adults. Click here for details.
